The Cataract Gorge.
Located just a few minutes from town centre you will find yourself walking under the steep cliffs beside the South Esk River leading to the First Basin a popular place for local to walk, swim & picnic.
It’s a beautiful location to spend a couple of hours or the entire day relaxing & exploring the bush, walking tracks & Victorian gardens.
National Automobile Museum
Now located in new premises next to The Silos hotel you will find one of Australia’s most significant car & motorcycle collections. Over 100 vehicles spanning a century of style & technical achievements.
Queen Victoria Museum & Art
Located across two sites close to the centre. The QVMAG is Launceston’s arts, cultural & creative heartbeat. This is the place to go to get a sense of Tasmania life, history and culture.
Harvest Markets
This is the place the locals stock up on fresh produce for the weeks meals. It has friendly, fun atmosphere where you actually meet the growers and taste the produce before buying.
Grab yourself a coffee and some treats from the food stalls then enjoy a chat with the other shoppers.
