Hot air balloon Tasmania (Cloud 9 Balloon Flights) has been operating for 27 years and has over that long period developed a safety & business culture that ensures you have a rollicking good time and go home with nothing but memories. Of course, CASA safety audits and 35 years flying experience has an input into our success and reputation but we believe it’s really our attitude that makes the real difference.
But before the ‘attitude’ all the dotting of i’s and crossing of t’s has to be done. As Tasmania’s ONLY fully licensed and accredited balloon flight company you have to believe me when I say, Tasmania is a world leader when it comes to regulation requirements regarding the operation of a Tourism Business. Anyway we got through it (with some therapy) and you can rest assured all the paperwork & legal requirements are in place.
But flying a balloon, not flying a desk is what we are here to do. So let’s talk attitude or what most call airmanship.
Airmanship is simply a mix of good training/procedure, experience and good old common sense. It seems when pilots remove common sense and add their own flare to this successful safety recipe that things start going horribly wrong.
The Big Ego - We fly higher, faster, longer. It ain’t rocket science. Spend your time flying close to the edge, chances are is one day you will fall over it.
